Coach Quit is Creating it’s Own iPhone Application
Posted on 2010 under Coach Quit Blogs | No CommentThe New Coach Quit iPhone Application
The new Coach Quit iPhone application is nearing completion. We are putting the final touches on the first version and it is destined to rock the quit smoking world. Instead of the typical non-sense of simply counting cigarettes, or reminding a smoker that he needs to quit smoking. This new app has a mind of it’s own, and it will get smarter over time.
How the Coach Quit App works.
The coach quit smoking cessation app really does all that anyone would want in a quit smoking application. First of all, it completely eliminates a quit smoking date. Why? You might ask. Well the answer is simple and straight forward. Coach Quit believes that having a quit date serves no useful purpose. Shocking isn’t it? Well we believe it’s true. When you have nothing better to do, then concentrate on some mythical date in the future that will save you from the smoking demons right?
Hardly! Instead, the Coach would prefer the user learn a few things. For one, why not learn that there is no reason to fret over quitting smoking? Why not instead view it as learning to do anything? Like learning to bowl, do a work-out, or ski even? Why should quitting smoking be any different than these and millions of other activities?
The fact is, quitting smoking is not different. It is very much like learning to do just about anything. We believe that what has made quitting smoking difficult in the past is mostly that there hasn’t been a very good way to quit. Therefore quitting Cold Turkey has gotten a lot of press at it were. Yet, it was and is a lousy system. That’s because for even those that quit with it, because there is a huge whole in how they did it, they are open to possible failure later.
What do we mean by that? It’s simple. the Coach Quit system of quitting smoking not only shows a person how to reduce the nicotine levels easily in the body. This is done by eliminating cigarettes that are not needed, among other things. And the user begins to think about quitting in a new way. The user of Coach Quit will intentionally put cigarettes out early, put them off for 5 minutes, realize whether any of them satisfied, and learn activities to do for short periods instead of smoking.
Coach Quit makes Quitting Smoking Easy
The Coach Quit system was designed to be easy to do from the very beginning. It’s predecessor “Quit Smoking Muscles” started the project in 1992. I am the author and creator of this new app, my name is Don Muller and I realized that I absolutely had to quit smoking. Yet like many people, I had no idea how to. Over the years I had tried a few of the gadgets and items that were supposed to help. These were items like cigarette perforators, special filters, nicotine gum, and inhalers, and probably a lot of junk I don’t care to remember.
But just how is Coach Quit different from the rest? When I first began to design the system, I started with questions, not answers. I wanted as little mental strife as possible. Anyone familiar with quitting smoking knows there is a lot of mental anguish and strife going on with trying to quit smoking. One major problem, is although the quitter is trying to quit, he is usually doing it in a painful way, and at the same time has no idea whether this painful episode will pay off.

So I did away with a quit smoking date. There was to be no date to worry and fret over. There would be nothing in the system that at any time was hard to do. If a person KNEW FOR A FACT that he would end up quitting smoking, he would be willing to put cigarettes out 2 puffs early. This is what starts the program. Now, I can’t really say whether or not everyone will quit, or will even do what is asked of them. But, if a person is serious about quitting, putting a cigarette out 2 puffs early from now on should not be that much of a problem.
From this point, we add other ideas that not only work on the physical aspects of smoking, but also the mental ones. We program in ways to say no to smoking. Saying no in many ways is important, and the fact that a user has 30 days or so usually to do this, gives ample time to slowly think like a non-smoker. I believe that the brain pays attention to what a person does, and ends up helping them in their activities. And if you are constantly saying no to cigarettes in small and big ways, it won’t be long before you get some added help.
