Coach Quit was inspired by Jonathan Robinson
Right around 1995 I had already developed the main quit smoking system that is used in the Coach Quit iPhone app, but at that time it was called Quit Smoking Muscles. I called it that because there were definite similarities that I saw between training for any sport, and training to quit smoking. It was at this time, when I was laboring over how the quit smoking system worked, and how I ever was going to explain it, that I met Jonathan Robinson. Well I met him by phone. I had called because I was intrigued by his Video: “60 Minutes to a Smoke Free Life” on a website that is run my a Mr. Kelley, it is Quit Smoking.com This site is also a treasure trove of Quit Smoking information.
Well, I shared with Mr. Robinson what I was working on. At that time it was the Quit Smoking Muscles, and he liked it and encouraged me to pursue it to it’s final outcome. There is really no real reason he had to take time out of his busy schedule to encourage me. I was really a nobody back then. My ideas were yet to help a single other person than myself at that time, yet he insisted that I continue this journey with self help writing. Now that I see the books he has written, and the speaking he does. Oh, I didn’t mention yet that Jonathan Robinson is a very successful public speaker? Here is a site that you can reach him at, Click Here for How To Tools.
I am so glad to have met Jonathan Robinson
It goes without saying that the Coach Quit method of smoking cessation itself is revolutionary and to my knowledge, never been done before. The system simply takes your mind off what normal quitters are concentrating on, which boils down to fear. And replaces it with calm optimism, and something easy to do at each smoking opportunity. You can smoke the entire 30 day quit smoking period and that is quite ok!
I am not sure why Jonathan Robinson so boldly suggested that the system be developed and brought to people. But, I am glad he did. My family did wonder why I was so slow about bringing the system into being thru a book or other ways. the fact is, it is hard to write about what you know and have it be readable. But suppose you are not sure why something works, that makes it a little harder as you try to figure it out. In addition, it also has to be done in a way that people will remember how to use the system. So, thank you again Jonathan Robinson, for inspiring me to continue. even much later, when I might have given up on the system that eventually became Coach Quit, I would remember what I knew about Mr. Robinson. That he was a very good and fast writer, and that people paid attention to what he wrote about, because his ideas were direct and straight forward. People could understand his great wisdom and could then apply it.
Thank you for your help. It was inspiration, which few give these days. Thanks for the gift, and I hope your gift to me continues to give to the many thousands of smokers that desperately need a new way to quit smoking. I thank you for them. Thanks Jonathan good buddy, and may the force continue to be with you.

Do Cigarettes Satisfy?

Do Cigarettes Satisfy?
We all seem to believe that cigarettes satisfy us in some way. There has been literally billions of
dollars worth of ads that have attempted to convince us that there is satisfaction in smoking.
Are you convinced they satisfy? Do they really satisfy? And if so, what exactly
is being satisfied? This is an important thing to think about. If we are going to spend so much
money and lost health on it, the LEAST smoking could do for us is satisfy us, at least for a little while.
You may have noticed how unsatisfying cigarettes really are on your own. Try this. The next
cigarette you light up, ask yourself the whole way through the smoking process just when did you
feel satisfied?
You may even try to discover what exactly was being satisfied. I personally never did feel satisfied
while smoking a cigarette and asking this question. But until I asked the question did I know it.
Maybe you will have better luck. I could not really quantify what feeling satisfied would actually mean.
Try this little test the next time you smoke a cigarette. Ask yourself as you smoke it, if you feel satisfied.
The answer may surprise you. Try it on every cigarette and see what you think.
When I did this, I noticed that because I didn’t feel satisfied at all, that I thought I wanted to
smoke another cigarette to get this elusive satisfaction, but even with smoking a second
cigarette right away, I never did feel satisfied. I don’t believe we are ever satisfied by cigarettes.
That has to be a myth. I think the cigarette companies simply have told
us that smoking satisfies us. We then smoke, and when we aren’t satisfied, we are therefore
encouraged to smoke more, in search of this necessary and elusive satisfaction.
Indeed,“we can’t get no satisfaction”…. from cigarettes. It seems to be rather the pursuit of satisfaction,
but none to be had.
If you discover as I did that cigarettes satisfy nothing at all, that may help you to be even more
committed to quitting than ever before. This is because you are starting to realize that you are
getting nothing in return for this habit, at least nothing positive. Of course, you are getting a lighter wallet. Smoking
cigarettes is costing more and more these days, and the upward trend will probably never end.
Remember this: If after smoking any cigarette that has been of course put out early, you still
desire to smoke more at that time. Just tell yourself that you will get it in a few minutes,
maybe on the next cigarette you smoke. After all, you have a steady stream of cigarettes
coming, simply get whatever you felt you lacked at a slightly later point in time such as the next
cigarette. While you do this, pat yourself on the back because that is precisely the mind set you
want to do this system. Gaining patience is what we want to do.
The lack of patience is what hurts smokers, and other people who have habits that are in any way
obsessive-compulsive. In the Coach Quit world putting off today what you
could smoke tomorrow is a good theme to go by. Become a lazy smoker and put off as many as you can!
The Coach Quit system works by putting cigarettes out early and putting them off. Although it is a
simple thing to do, it is also extremely effective. Sometimes simple is also the most effective.

Smoking Triggers
What causes us to want to light up? Stop and
think about it for a minute. How did you decide
to smoke the last cigarette that you smoked?
What happened?
I would suggest that it went something like this.
You were sitting there, minding your own
business, and then something happened that
caused you to think of smoking. This seemed to
happen out of the clear blue sky.
But did it?
Maybe someone you know lit a cigarette. For
many people, seeing someone smoke is a very
powerful signal to also light a cigarette. OR.
You got your favorite drink. Well, you always
light a cigarette when you drink it, don’t you? So,
it makes sense to light a cigarette. There is really
no thought to it. OR.
You did any of countless things that remind you
to smoke in similar fashion. We want to notice
what these are. We want to avoid most of them.
If you find that you cannot go to a bar without
smoking then try this. For the sake of your health
and those around you, limit your bar going for a
month for the sake of your own health and
family. Remember that you will ultimately pay
for smoking with your health. So, it is a small
price to pay, to help you quit smoking for good.
There are some very powerful triggers. Romantic
encounters are very powerful in this regard. If you
are used to lighting up a cigarette afterward, I
suggest you get a glass of water instead. Water has an
amazing ability to take away many short term
cravings. Use this idea often.
After all it does have the ability to fill you up,
which tends to make you feel better, and it does
hydrate well. So it is not insignificant.
Eating something, taking a bath, or watching TV
might be something you can substitute for
smoking. Or it may be that these will be part of
your must-have cigarettes. Remember it is ok to
smoke in this system. We just want to delete the
unnecessary cigarettes. We want to put-off what
we cannot eliminate. And we smoke only what
we have to, such as with the must-have cigarettes.
But even with must-haves, we do want to do our best
to put those off as well. After a while, all
cigarettes can be and should be put-off at least 5 minutes.
You really want to practice extending that 5 minutes
Time-out as long as you can. Because one day, you will put
the next cigarette off for good.

Coach Quit gets a Twitter Account
The Coach Quit quit smoking system has it’s own Twitter account. Follow “coachquit” on Twitter for updates as to the progress of the application “app”. We will update you when and if it gets approved for sale.
For our New Readers
The Coach Quit app started many years ago as a frustration really. The creator of the system, really had to quit smoking. Yet, he had tried on many occassions to stop smoking but to no avail. Well, maybe it was a negative result at first. Not for the system that was ultimately devised, but just for the idea of EVER QUITTING CIGARETTES!
You see, when someone tries over and over to quit smoking, they get tired of it. They need an answer for why this is. And in the end they usually decide something like….”Well, I am just one of the un-lucky ones. I just can’t quit smoking.” OR “Well, I guess I just like smoking too much!”
I am a Nicotine Addict
But, you will rarely hear this…”Well, I am a nicotine addict, and I need help to quit.” People almost never think of themselves as an addict. And almost never ever will refer to this as the reason that they cannot quit.
But I clearly recall when I used this system. Well, I used it manually at the time, there was no smart phone to give me a pocket quit smoking coach. I only had the system in my hand. I remember though what it was like to both wean myself from cigarettes using this system, and gain mental control of my smoking at the same time. It was when the power of the need for nicotine had subsided along with the power to say no to cigarettes in many ways that I definitely realized just how “Hooked on Nicotine” I was. It astounded me.
Get the Aha Experience
If you use the Coach Quit smoking system, you may also have this “Aha” experience! There is really nothing like it. It is when you no longer feel what is really a tremendous urge to smoke. The kind of urge that gets smokers out of bed in the middle of the night to go buy cigarettes from the store. If this sounds familiar, join the group. You are probably addicted to smoking, and are headed towards health misery unless you do something.
Now you will not find in the documentation of the app, or the e-books, or soon to be published book anything about the Coach telling you or anyone they should quit smoking. That is not what the Coach does. It is up to you the smoker, to find the reasons why smoking should be stopped. There is motivation out there, and in your house. You find it, and then come see what the Coach has to say about quitting. Remember, the Coach Quit system was not created by some Doctor, or health-care Guru. It was created by a long time smoker, who took the time to figure out how he alone could possibly quit, and what he had to do to achieve that goal. When it did work, and worked well the very first time he tried it, he told his doctor. That would be Dr. Cole of East Texas. the good doctor suggested that the system be brought to the public.
After much tweaking and fine tuning of the then system called, “Quit Smoking Muscles”, Coach Quit was born. Why not put all the things a person needs to do in a smart phone application like the iPhone? Why make someone read an entire book, and hope they remember how a system is supposed to work, when we can show him step by step and cigarette by cigarette what to do?
Remember, Coach Quit is sophisticated in what it does and how it does it. It doesn’t just merely record how many cigarettes you smoke, or tell you when to smoke them. We show you how to smoke less, what cigarettes are less important, how to put a cigarette off, how to put it out early, how to ask if it satisfied, and finally. How to know when you are ready to quit smoking. Why trust this all to memory, and your own possible introduction of ideas? Why not follow a system that is known to work, and let the app show you the way?
Follow coachquit on Twitter.com
The app will probably be free for some time periods, so it is wise if you have any interest in all in the app, to follow this site http://coachquit.com or follow coachquit on Twitter.com.
Keep in mind that this system is exactly how the creator Don Muller quit smoking. This is not some neat sounding invention for sales purposes. It is a bona fide way to quit smoking, and an app would make it that much easier. Give Coach Quit a try. At the bare minimum you will learn quite a lot about quitting smoking.
